Have you ever heard anyone (more often a girl) say they like an artist? Probably. Have you ever heard a girl say “Oh my god, I love him, he’s so cute!” about the same artist? Yeah. All the freaking time. It enrages me. Yeah, great, they’re cute or whatever but how does that make them a good artist?
I think that’s why I dislike Justin Bieber so much. His songs are irritating at best and girls love him more because “he’s so cute” than because of his music. And it bothers me even more because he doesn’t do anything about it. He plays up the pretty boy image. If he tried improving his music and played with a band and didn’t have a dance routine to go along with whatever song it is he is singing I might actually have some respect but no, he dances and sings and looks pretty for the girls and builds his fanbase.
Nothing against getting fans, considering it generally helps when you’re trying to make money, but come on, get them for the right reasons.
Similar with Bruno Mars. Yes, his songs are good lyric and message wise, I just don’t like them. But girls always rave about how cute he is and completely ignore his music. Well, maybe not completely. But whatever.
